Welcome to ALFW: An 8-week yoga, meditation and wellness course.
This mindfully based 8-week yoga and meditation and journaling course is based on the newly published 342-page book titled A Light From Within Yoga Workbook and Journal.
The course was designed by Miguel Latronica, ERYT and Mary Farhi, MD.,Ryt
Both the book and course are joined at the hip. Participating in this course will prove to be successful not just for your health, but also your mental, physical and emotional well-being. It is designed to help impart the necessary skills and levels of awareness to help slow down and take a more integrative approach to your life and health patterns patterns.
To do this, Miguel and Mary have chosen to incorporate many of the major components of ALFW book to seamlessly structure this 8-week course. The course is extremely versatile and offers an assortment of engaging activities. One such example is how each of the 52 different yoga poses have been assigned to one of eight different weeks. From the start of each class there is a one-hour group yoga practice session. Each class lends itself to the classical hatha approach and is appropriate for all levels of participation. All necessary props and equipment are provided. Just below is a random example of a single ALFW session:
Based on the schedule (above) you can see how all the elements of the book and course eclipse themselves into a call-to-action that can only lead to one thing:Vibrant health and greater awareness! So, in addition to each weeks yoga practice, the curriculum focuses on the many different aspects of meditations, mudra, affirmations, haiku and chakras and workbook exercises. Each and every week provides a unique opportunity to learn more about how your hormones, diet and nutrition affect the physical and psychic and emotional experience of your everyday life. And you might be thinking to yourself "… is this course really for me?" Yes, it is. Our course has made a very big difference in the lives of others! Upon the completion of each and every course we ask that all participants review our program— we have gotten nothing but great reviews!
The overall backdrop and ambience of our program could best be summed up by saying that each week we use different sets of tools such as essential oils, foods stuffs and even tuning forks — all of which accentuates and enhances that weeks overall theme.
Just above is a random example of a students Personal Emotions Imprint Map (PEIM).
This map is based on the students unique timeline and circumstances of his/her life. So, for example, in ALFW book there are102 workbook questions and 102 journal entries, each of which mirrors the 17 more common positive and negative emotions. So this random PEIM (just above) is based on the user already having worked through 25 out of 102 questions—and as you can see in this pie chart, each segmented emotion has been colored out to represent that persons emotional imprint pattern. This course is a great way to reacquaint oneself with their greater inner-power—A great way to reexamine the process of holding on and letting go...to take control of your health and wellness.
